Lahore BISE: Pass percentage drops five points

Five-sixths of boys fail in arts exams, two-thirds in science exams.

The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education declared the results of the Secondary School Certificate Part 1 (9th class) annual examinations of 2013 here on Wednesday, announcing a pass percentage of 39.48%.


A total of 214,975 candidates sat the exams held under the Lahore BISE and 84,868 passed. A brief statement on the results was released to the media at 9.45am on Wednesday following which students were able to access their scores.

In the sciences group, a total of 72,034 boys sat the exam and 26,975 passed, while 50,066 girls sat the exams and 29,563 passed. In the arts group, 41,738 boys sat the exam and 7,039 passed, while 51,137 girls sat the exams and 21,291 passed.

This year saw a drop in both the number of students who sat the exams and the pass percentage. Almost 250,000 students took the tests last year, while the pass percentage was also significantly higher at almost 44 per cent.

The results are available on the board’s website and students can access them by entering their name and/or roll number at the website. Students can also access their detailed results.
