Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday ordered an inquiry into the incident and asked the interior secretary to submit a report by Friday evening.
According to a source at the press office, “the prime minister has categorically instructed the interior secretary to present a report with logical answers to the questions being raised by the masses regarding the security lapse in the red zone of the capital.”
Sources further revealed that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s controversial remarks at the press conference had angered the prime minister. However, Nisar had later apologised to the prime minister for the incident, and admitted that the entire episode was due to a security lapse.
“The prime minister has also asked the interior ministry to clarify its position as to why the action against Sikander was delayed and why police allowed individuals to overcome the situation, with a specific reference to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Zamurd Khan,” the source said while talking to The Express Tribune.

NS's cabinet is collapsing and it has been only a couple of months. Is this what we voted for?
PM furious like" Beta to kar ke aya karo"..
If the PM had made Jati Umra Raiwand a real seat of governance instead of Islamabad, then what else one can expect except Islamabad Drama? What will happen if a dozen of Taliban fighters sneak into the Capital City?
why PM asked the interior secretary? why not interior minister who must be fired now.
@Syed Nayyar Uddin Ahmad: Valid questions, need pondering and further investigation.
I hope that enquiry committee does not report that Sikander did that in conjuncture with PPP.
Sikander Saga - Unanswered Questions?
All the TV channels reported that Sikander was in a rented car.
All the TV channels also reported that as per Excise department information the registration numbers on the car were fake.
After the operation was over and Sikander and his wife were shifted to the hospital, IGP Islamabad came over the TV and stated that Sikender snatched the car from the hotel owner.
Now the questions are that:
a). if the car was snatched from the hotel owner did he report the incident to the police?
Was an FIR of this car snatching was lodged with the police?
b). Was this crime of Sikander mentioned in the FIR finally lodged by the police against him under the anti-terrorism act?
c). Moreover, has the police lodged an FIR against the hotel owner for putting up a fake number plate on his car?
Wow! I'm impressed to note that there are still things that can provoke curiosity in this otherwise extremely indifferent man who appears most of the time to be in some kind of induced sleep.
He can only order...Order order order
Mr. Nisar's wig must now come off. He sits with such arrogance, and pretends to have all under control. The man as told does not except any calls after 5.PM. Even if the country is on fire. Why do we have to take such nonsense from the no good man ??? PML (N) your days are over even before they started.
PM Sb., weren't you aware of the live 5hr long telecast and what was going on?? Situation would had been lot lesser embarrassing both for the nation & your government had you got furious on Interior Ministry at that very moment.
The same level of incompetence, ineptitude and enfeebleness can be seen in Mr.NS's role as Foreign Minister but then again who is going to tell him.
PM is furious as someone else has stolen the show and this was evident from rana sanaullahs statement in PA.
PM has taken the correct stand. Interior Minister should reflect on the incidence and consider submitting resignation. What happened in Islamabad was indeed a blight on the government. And what about the IG Police and SSP........they need to stand up and admit that they failed the nation
