ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday ordered an inquiry into the incident and asked the interior secretary to submit a report by Friday evening.

According to a source at the press office, “the prime minister has categorically instructed the interior secretary to present a report with logical answers to the questions being raised by the masses regarding the security lapse in the red zone of the capital.”

Sources further revealed that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s controversial remarks at the press conference had angered the prime minister. However, Nisar had later apologised to the prime minister for the incident, and admitted that the entire episode was due to a security lapse.

“The prime minister has also asked the interior ministry to clarify its position as to why the action against Sikander was delayed and why police allowed individuals to overcome the situation, with a specific reference to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Zamurd Khan,” the source said while talking to The Express Tribune.

NS's cabinet is collapsing and it has been only a couple of months. Is this what we voted for?
