Security: ‘Protect foreigners in Pakistan’

The chief minister said recruitment of 4,000 police constables must start immediately.

LAHORE: “Pakistan is fighting for its survival. There is a need for collective efforts to root out terrorism,” Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Tuesday. He was presiding over a high level meeting to the review law and order situation, safety of foreigners working on various projects and security arrangements for Independence Day. He said maintenance of law and order was vital for foreign investment. “The government has decided to form a special force for the specific purpose of ensuring safety of foreigners working on various projects,” he said. He said foreign investment was essential for progress and development of the country.  “It is the responsibility of the government to provide security to foreigners working in the country,” he said. The chief minister said recruitment of 4,000 police constables must start immediately.
