The Pakistan Hockey Team could face suspension in the 2014 Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow due to an ongoing tussle between the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and the government, Express News reported.

The Commonwealth Games has announced that the Pakistan Hockey team cannot take part in the games unless the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), headed by Lt General Arif Hassan, gives its approval.

Participation of Pakistan in international sports is being affected by the ongoing tussle between the Arif Hassan’s POA and the POA Interim Committee set up by the government, both of whom claim to be the authentic.

Previously, the Pakistan Olympic Association also recognised Arif Hassan’s POA to be authentic.
