Independence day: IGP asks police to tighten security

States that security should be beefed up in Karachi and all over Sindh on Wednesday.

KARACHI: Sindh IGP Shahid Nadeem Baloch has directed the police to ensure strict security on Independence Day being celebrated on August 14. He stated that security should be beefed up in Karachi and all over Sindh on Wednesday. He further said that the police should make Independence Day programmes which would be held all over the city, such as at Mazar-e-Quaid, educational institutions and other public spaces, secure for all. He directed that all public places should be checked by bomb disposal squad and extra law enforcers should be deployed at sensitive installations, airports, railway stations, bus terminals, flyovers, underpasses, embassies, hotels, food chains, markets and other important government and private buildings.
