Timely intelligence: Suspect in DI Khan jailbreak arrested

A suspected militant with links to a banned outfit and allegedly involved in the DI Khan prison attack was arrested during a raid at his house in Dinpur area on Thursday.
Adnan, 16, was also wanted by the police for being involved in multiple attacks on police vans and security forces. A cantonment police official said the raid was conducted by police and security forces based on intelligence information and the accused was shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
In a separate incident, the bomb disposal squad (BDS) defused a low-intensity explosive device planted near Daraban check post by unidentified militants.
Deputy in-charge of BDS, Inayat Tiger said he was informed by the police of the planted bomb, after which he rushed to the spot and defused it.
“Around one kilogramme of explosives was used in the device,” he said.
The same check post was destroyed by militants during the attack on the central prison on July 29 when at least 150 heavily-armed Taliban militants freed 248 prisoners, including more than 49 high-profile militants.
