ISLAMABAD:

The National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) have arranged a special campaign on all highways and motorways in order to ensure a safe journey for people travelling to their hometowns to celebrate Eid.

On the direction of NHMP Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema, traffic police officials, including female officials, have been distributing Iftar packets among travellers.

The NHMP has deployed additional patrolling vehicles and highways and zonal commanders are leading the patrol teams in their respective areas.

Cheema further directed officers to maintain vigilance during Eid as the roads will be full to the brim with commuters.

He said NHMP officials should work to ease the suffering of commuters whose vehicles run into trouble on the highways so as to not spoil their Eid celebration.
