LAHORE:

Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought details by August 13 from the Ministry of Water and Power about directions issued to power supply companies on load shedding.

The chief justice also inquired about the transfer of Muhammad Saleem from the post of chief executive officer of Lesco.

The chief justice remarked that the department should utilise Saleem’s skills.

He was hearing a petition against load shedding during sehri, iftar and taravih timings.

The petitioner, Advocate Muhammad Azhar Siddique, claimed that Saleem had been transferred for saving 17 megawatts of electricity by stopping theft. He said such steps discouraged honest officers.
