Overcoming obstacles: UET concerned over delays in awarding engineering degrees

A high-level meeting was held at University of Engineering Technology (UET) Peshawar on Tuesday to look into delays in awarding degrees to students of BSc Electrical Engineering (communication) at the UET Kohat campus.
Participants of the meeting, which was presided over by Dean of Engineering Professor Dr Zahid Mehmood, decided students studying at the Kohat campus should be taught required courses not previously offered. They plan on launching them at the Peshawar campus during the fall 2013 semester.
These courses are necessary for the conferment of the degree according to the criteria of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and UET Peshawar.
Coordinator for Kohat campus Engineer Iftikhar Ahmad Afridi and chairman of the department of electrical engineering Prof Dr Mohammad Inayatullah Babar told participants of the meeting the programme was moved from Kohat to the Peshawar campus when the graduating batch was in its final semester. Efforts have been undertaken to resolve the issue and UET Peshawar is in contact with the engineering council, they added.
Dr Mehmood also directed the faculty to expedite the process.
