‘Drug addicts’: Inmates injure themselves with blades

Police said they had cut themselves on different parts of their bodies with blades.

Two inmates at the Model Town lock-up were injured on Monday. Police said they had cut themselves with blades. Model Town police said the two men had been arrested a week ago. They said the two- Ijaz Jajji and Faisal- were members of a robbers’ gang called Jajji gang. On Sunday, They were both found injured in the lock-up. Police said they had cut themselves on different parts of their bodies with blades. They were both taken to Civil Hospital. Model Town Station House Officer Anser Mohal said six robbers had been locked up on physical remand. He said Jajji and Faisal were both drug addicts. He said they had demanded that they be provided narcotics. He said they had been brought from the district jail and speculated that they had hidden the blades in their mouths on their way to the lock up.
