In different instances of violence, a tribal elder was gunned down, a doctor was kidnapped and a rocket was fired in Quetta on Wednesday while a container truck was set on fire in Mastung district. Unidentified assailants shot dead a renowned transporter and tribal elder Mir Abdul Rauf Kurd along with his two friends. Four passersby were also injured in the attack. According to the City Police Station duty officer Muhamamd Akram, Kurd was passing from Prince Road, when armed men riding motorcycles sprayed bullets on his vehicle. Police suspects the motive of the attack was a tribal feud, but there was no official word. A case has been registered. In another instance, Dr Ahmed Khan was kidnapped when he was on his way to Killi Sheikmanda area close to the Quetta Airport.
