QUETTA:
Expressing concerns over the provincial government’s lack of interest in a request calling for transfer of the Akbar Bugti murder case, the Balochistan High Court (BHC) adjourned the hearing till August 24, Express News reported on Monday.

BHC Chief Justice Qazi Faez Essa heard the case today.

The request calls for the transfer of the murder case from Quetta to Islamabad.

The court issued a notice to Advocate General Shakeel Baloch to submit a reply regarding the government’s stance.

During the hearing, former dictator Pervez Musharraf’s advocate Ilyas Siddiqui requested the court to give him more time to prepare for the case and present concrete evidence.

Earlier on July 15, an anti terrorism court in Quetta issued orders that Musharraf be produced in court in the assassination case.

Musharraf was accused of orchestrating the murder of Bugti, the chief of his tribe. He was killed in a military operation in Balochistan in 2006 when Musharaf was the army chief and president of the country at the same time.
