ISLAMABAD: Results for the presidential elections will be announced on the same day, according to a statement by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Express News reported.
ECP has sent a letter to the Registrar of the High Court of the four provinces, asking them to fax them the results as soon as they were filed, Express News correspondent Muhammad Bilal reported.
The official filing of the presidential election will take place on Tuesday between 10am and 3pm on July 30.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) representative Mamnoon Hussain and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed will be competing for the post of the president of Pakistan.
Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) decided to withdraw its candidate Raza Rabbani when it boycott the elections as a protest against the ECP for changing the dates of the elections without taking all stakeholders into confidence.
