Proposal rejected: Three murder accused granted bail

According to a complaint filed by Nawaz, the three men shot and killed his mother Saleema Bibi on November 3, 2012.

An additional district and sessions judge has granted pre-arrest bail to three men accused of killing a woman because she refused to accept their marriage proposal for her daughter.


Shehzad, Javed and Waqas were granted bail at Rs50,000 each and told to cooperate with investigators and attend every court hearing. The case was adjourned till August 5.

According to a complaint filed by Nawaz, the three men shot and killed his mother Saleema Bibi on November 3, 2012, at her home. The men had gone to the house with a marriage proposal for her daughter.

He submitted that a case had been registered under Sections 302 (murder), 148 (rioting) and 149 (conspiracy). But the IO Shafique, and other police officials were not cooperating with him. The police had not arrested the accused nor found the murder weapon, he said. They had declared the accused to be innocent. He asked the court to take legal action against the police officials.
