According to the police officials, the lecturer identified as Prof Abdul Razaq Zehri was on way with another Prof Abdul Hakeem when unidentified persons riding a motorcycle opened fire on them.
As a result both the Professors of Degree College Khuzdar were wounded seriously.
The injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital Khuzdar where one of them succumbed to injuries.
The deceased was identified as Prof Abdul Razaq Zehri and the injured as Prof Abdul Hakeem.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. A case has been registered and investigations are under way.
Meanwhile, a man was gunned down in Nal area of Khuzdar district on Thursday.
According to the sources, unidentified armed men riding the motorcycle opened fire on a man in Nal Bazaar.
As a result, the man identified as Muheem Khan was killed.
