Doongi Ground: LHC removes registrar’s objection
The petitioners asked the court to stay the auction of 26 shops in the plaza.
LAHORE:
Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday removed an objection raised by the registrar’s office to a contempt petition against the government for allegedly ignoring a court order against the construction of a parking plaza at the MM Alam Road Doongi Ground. The court initiated proceedings on the plea moved by shop owners against the construction of the parking plaza on land designated as a park. The petitioners asked the court to stay the auction of 26 shops in the plaza.
