Violence continues: Three people, including policeman, killed

Head constable Syed Arif Ali shot dead by motorcyclists.

The body of an unidentified man was found in Bakra Pehri area within the limits of Kharadar police station.

Three people, including a police head constable, were killed in the city on Thursday.  Head constable Syed Arif Ali, 45, was shot dead by motorcyclists.


According to the Sachal police, Ali was going to his Gulshan-e-Iqbal home in a police uniform when two men ambushed him and sprayed him with bullets. Separately, the body of an unidentified man was found in Bakra Pehri area within the limits of Kharadar police station. Police said that the hands and legs of the body were trussed.

A 28-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide at Sumeer Avenue Apartments of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The woman allegedly shot herself dead after being fed up of marital disputes. Station House Officer Malik Saleem said that the deceased was a mother of two children and her husband worked as an estate agent. The police arrested the husband on suspicion but later released him.
