Although the DPO on site said that the police will start investigation in to the case once the lady doctor files a request, she has reportedly been taken to the district police station where she is being pressurised into a compromise.
Dr Sana claimed the issue was regarding free medicines, even though the government does not provide them. According to her account, MPA Sandheela is known to frequent the clinic for free medication and has never purchased a required hospital ticket priced at Rs2.
Eyewitnesses and colleagues testified that he has never purchased the required ticket.
“He threw the mobile phone at my stomach and pushed me as well. If this can happen to an educated female doctor, it can happen to anyone. I request the chief of Punjab to remove this MPA from his post because he is harassing people”, she said while speaking to the media with teary eyes.
“He always asks for free medicines though it is not his right. Even when he was not an MPA this was his behavior- now that he is a MPA, he blackmails me regarding my position”, she added.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the MPA misbehaved with the lady doctor and was seen to be very angry. The lady doctor was seen crying after she had been slapped.
According to reports, Arif Sandheela denied the incident and termed the allegations baseless. Sandheela said that the doctor is accusing him of the incident in hope of receiving a transfer. When contacted by Express News, he said he would get back with an answer however no word has been received yet.
Tension surrounding transfer
Arif Sandheela claimed that the lady doctor had been requesting the MPA to put a stop to her transfer as she was in charge of the veterinary hospital. Sandheela said, he told Dr Sana that the hospital was not in his constituency and that the position of the hospital in charge required a grade 18 doctor, whereas Dr Sana falls short being a grade 17 doctor.
He denied this incident and addressed the assault question saying he dropped his phone. He also thinks this may have been a pre-planned attempt from people who knew he was due for a hearing in the ASP’s office, regarding a case dated to Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Sheikhupura during the election campaign.
Previously, another MPA from the same party received criticism in the media regarding a similar incident. Nighat Nasir Sheikh’s PML-N party membership was annulled on June 19 for harassing and slapping a bus hostess.
According to reports, Sheikh had asked for water from a bus hostess; the hostess failed to serve water on time, which resulted in a quarrel. The annoyed MPA slapped the bus hostess in the face and harassed her.
The driver of the private bus immediately took the bus to a police station and the passengers demanded legal action against the MPA in question.

The lady doctor who did the complain of harassment by the MPA Mr.Arif Sandheela. I think they're accustomed to doin' the same thin' not cause of we casted votes or they're immodest of PML-N it's just they'd so tried out to presumeupon the leadership. Yes, i'm so surprisingly blanked how the person could slung mobile on her though that was lame matter . Govt. of Punjab please take the action for sake the country.

@Yas: It is good to see "experienced" PML-N MPA/MNA are being compared with some immature PTI workers on street that explains PML-N's caliber. Regardless of parties affiliations, such act and characters should be condemned. And by the way, such characters are part of PML-N owners families as well. I don't understand how one can protect and support such people. I agree that right course should be taken which is to lodge FIR, investigate and drag them to court. But guess what, this will get interrupted by Shahbaz. He will suspend him/her and ask authorities to investigate on TV and make it appear as the "experienced" candidate has faced the destiny and then nothing happens after wards. FIR and eventually imprisonment will hit/ban candidate's political career and this is what PML-N don't want. So you see, right course is avoided by PML-N itself then any one else. "Few scums" as you suggested are part of assemblies supported by the party. Dear all, before commenting I strongly belief one should wait for facts. I fail to understand why people react to any such news without authentication. I Am sure there is more to it. This doc for sure is not as innocent as it seems. Our government employees are spoiled nawabs and any strict actions taken are mostly criticized by media as political badmashi where as most of the time it's other way around. I request the commenters to visit government veterinary hospitals only than one can truly have an idea Good luck to lady doc and MPA who have courageously welcomed investigation by police or any other forum. Lastly whats the status on bus incident? Any one following or any newspaper or tv channel bothered about investigation?

Why has no one above questioned the Police action of removing a female alleged victim of physical assault to thana without at the same time arresting the accused man? I thought Veterinarians and not Doctors are employed at Veterinary hospitals and MPAs generally do not take animal medication. Am I wrong?
Nothing new. This is the culture of this society- jageerdarana. Never can be changed until & unless this very system be abolished.
The poor vet! Well this has been the typical behavior of PMLN, specially to govt employees. They treat them as their personal servants. And what will happen after inquiry? Nothing!! Lady vet will be pressurized to withdraw complain, with some offer of "harjana" or transfer. Nobody will show up for testimony, because of threats and nothing shall happen. This is how it works.
If PMLN is really interested in its future as national political party, it should take such cases very seriously and make example of it. Otherwise the public is getting wiser and wiser.
PML-N MNAs have become very arrogant (impolite and indecent they are any way). I see such acts daily in Islamabad. Mr PM please give them some orientation of decency, civilization and culture. @Aysha M: I think the problem is that things are covered up in Sind and other provinces whereas people in Punjab are more likely to report bad behaviour and justifiably expect results and action in the Punjab. This is why the level of lawlessness in Punjab is much less than any other province.
Parliamentarians from the Punjab are an interesting lot, they make it to the news regularly with their antics.

Whatever the rights or wrongs of the incident, louts should not hold public office. Men who assault those who are physically weaker must be arrested and presented before a magistrate.

@Hamid: If the "cattle of Punjab" can be held accountable for their actions and be dismissed then I will continue to vote for the "cattle of the Punjab". It is precisely because of this accountability and maturity that Punjab remains the best managed and governed province in Pakistan. In other provinces and cities, this type of behaviour would be ignored or just covered up but not in Punjab.

MPA should be punished in accordance with UK or European laws as there are no protective laws for women in Pakistan. The law of jungle prevails in that country. If the authorities are unwilling to do any thing against The MPA then at least he should be awarded with some medal of bravery for encouragement.
First make up your mind is she a lady doctor or a nurse.... confusing headlines. Anyway, she is Mashallah a pretty girl, and chances are medicines are an excuse to try and chat her up. @Hammad: It's good that awareness that bad behaviour will not be tolerated of MNAs and MPAs in the Punjab and they will be kicked out if claims about such behaviour are substantiated. Awareness is the greatest in the Punjab. Credit goes to PML N for showing people that anyone caught abusing their position will be kicked out of the party like Nighat Sheikh. The PML N has done a great job so far showing how elected officials need to behave responsibly or lose their posts.

It is not only a disgraceful but an act of terrorism. It should be dealt with accordingly. Terrorism does not necessarily mean stabbing or shooting, any act of violence falls within the meaning of this word. I would say that even shouting at others is also terrorism. All Pakistan Clerks Association condenmed the action of this MPA. If action is not taken against this shameless man, we will go on indefinite strike. His head should be shaved and handed over to the family of the women for further necessary action.
