Freed sex work: Woman seeks prosecution of in-laws

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday sought comments from the Sabzazar SHO by July 18 on a petition filed by a woman seeking registration of a case against her husband and his family for beating her up.

Petitioner Zainab Bibi submitted that she was married to Kashif in June 2012.

She said ever since her in-laws had forced her into sex work. She said when she refused to carry on her husband and his family members, Zulfiqar and Aasia, thrashed her.

She said she had visited the SHO concerned to register a case against them but he had refused to entertain his complaint.

She prayed the court to direct them for beating her and for forced prostitution.
