Abduction bid: Student activist escapes attack

Abidi remained safe in the attack as his car collided with the wall and he fled from the scene.

KARACHI: An activist of the Imamia Student Organisation escaped an allegedly targeted attack near Abbas Town in Sohrab Goth. Police officials claimed that the incident took place when the activist, Taseer Abidi, was on his way to home when two armed men, riding a motorcycle, opened fire at his car.

Abidi remained safe in the attack as his car collided with the wall and he fled from the scene.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, Malir police have registered FIR No.180/13 against unidentified people for kidnapping and beating six people on gunpoint.

The police said that six friends were abducted by gunmen and later beaten up by the culprits after shifting them to an undisclosed location.

Police officials added that the culprits later dumped them injured in the Malir area and escaped.
