Railways: Karachi Express suspended over lack of locomotives

Hazara Express, which is suppose to travel from Karachi to Havelian on Tuesday, has also been cancelled.

Pakistan Railways has suspended the Karachi Express train service due to lack of locomotives. Passengers will be transported by Khyber Mail and Tez Gam from Karachi to Lahore while new bogies are added.


According to a press release, in order to improve service quality, Pakistan Railways has decided to divert all passengers from Karachi heading to Lahore on to different trains to make up for the lack of locomotives.

These steps were taken to ensure that trains are on schedule, and the Railways issued an apology for any inconvenience faced by the passengers. Hazara Express, which was to travel from Karachi to Havelian on Tuesday, has also been cancelled and passengers will be reimbursed, according to the Pakistan Railways Advisory and Consultancy Services.
