Subversive acts: Eight killed in citywide violence

An alleged robber was gunned down inside his home in Orangi Town.

Eight people were killed in separate incidents of violence in the city on Sunday.


Bodies of two unidentified men were found from Agra Taj Colony, Lyari, within the limits of Kalri police station. According to the police officials, the victims were kidnapped by unidentified men and later shot. When the police reached the site, they found one of them to be critically injured. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries during the treatment at Civil Hospital Karachi. Their bodies were later shifted to the Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth, for identification.

An alleged robber was gunned down inside his home in Orangi Town. The deceased was identified as 30-year-old Muhammad Ali aka Kaki. The police said that the victim had a criminal background and one of his associates was killed in an encounter only a day before. The police further said that initial investigation suggests that his own accomplices shot him. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained.  An employee of the Karachi Electricity Supply Company was shot dead in Pak Colony for offering resistance in a robbery bid.

Four others were killed in separate incidents, including a worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
