Hangu: Man kidnapped, locals nab two suspects

Abu Bakr was kidnapped while heading toward Hangu Bazaar.

Unidentified armed men allegedly kidnapped a man from Karbogha Sharif in Hangu district on Sunday. During a search for the potentially abducted man, locals caught two other alleged kidnappers.


Saddar police official Islam Din said he was informed Abu Bakar was heading to Hangu Bazaar when unidentified men intercepted him, pushed him into a car and drove off. Din rushed to the site however the residents had already started searching for Abu Bakar in the mountainous terrain near Karbogha.

“They caught two suspects identified as Tariq Khan and Zubair,” shared Din. The two were handed over to the police. Residents claimed the men were involved in the kidnapping of various tribesmen from Orakzai and Hangu. Abu Bakar’s whereabouts remained unknown till the filing of this report.
