
Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Ghulam Murtaza on Saturday adjourned the jail trial of Sawan Masih till July 25. Sawan Masih is accused of committing blasphemy that led to over 150 houses of Joseph Colony being burned down.
The judge adjourned the trial after Advocate Muhammad Rashid submitted power of attorney on behalf of complainant Shahid Imran and more time to study the case.
Prosecutions witnesses Manzoor Hussain, Shahid Imran (complainant), Shafique, Iftikhar, Bashir and Qasim attended the hearing.
Earlier, the judge had summoned the witnesses through non-bailable arrest warrants. He had also ordered the Badami Bagh SHO to appear before the court along with the witnesses.
