HYDERABAD:

Over a dozen workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf were injured in an attack on their rally in Latifabad town on Friday.

Led by the local PTI leader, Mustansir Billah, the workers were protesting over sanitation problems and the general lack of cleanliness when they were allegedly attacked by supporters of a particular political party who were armed with sticks and batons. The rival party members also resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters.

The incident occurred near Khuda Hafiz chowk in Latifabad Unit 12. Billah, whose house was earlier attacked after the killing of PTI leader, Zahra Shahid Hussain, accused the workers of a political party for attacking them. “We were holding a peaceful protest against the civic agencies. They attacked us without a reason,” he asserted. The injured were shifted to Civil hospital. The police have yet to register an FIR.
