Shootout at picket: Police kill two ‘robbers’
The police returned fire and shot both of them.

Police shot and killed two men on a motorcycle after they shot at a picket in Garhi Park on Sunday, police officials said. The policemen on duty at the picket had signaled the motorcyclists to stop as they approached, but the men sped up and opened fire, they said. The police returned fire and shot both of them. The two, Abid alias Balli and Sono Masih, were taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival. Police said that the two men had been accused in several robbery cases and had robbed a citizen of his motorbike and phone shortly before the shootout. However, they could not say where the alleged robbers were from.
