Timely action : Contractors told to work fast
"Timely completion is the prime responsibility of the contractors," says city commissioner.

City commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui urged all contractors engaged in developmental work in suburban and rural areas to neither delay nor discontinue their works if there is a delay in payments.
At a meeting with the district council on Sunday, he said that, “This will hurt the contractors themselves as not only the project will weaken but its cost will also increase significantly.” He said that timely completion with equal care for quality of work is the prime responsibility of the contractors. He further directed his officer, Abdul Hameed Jamali, and other officials to ensure that only the projects with approved budgets are undertaken. “They must realise their professional responsibilities and obligations towards people with utmost honesty,” he said, adding that payments will be made on time.
