QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) has threatened to shut down indefinitely the RCD Highway – the main economic artery of the province as it released part of its latest protest schedule on Sunday.

The party also demanded the wiping out of all death squads operating under the supervision of the state functionaries. Addressing a joint news conference at the Quetta Press Club here on Sunday, Agha Hassan Baloch, Rauf Mengal, a former MNA and Akhtar Lango, a former MPA told the media that demonstrations would be staged all over Balochistan on July 2, followed by a shutter down strike on July 4 and an indefinite closure of the RCD Highway linking Karachi with Iran.

They claimed that FC supported by the police and the anti-terrorist squad and members of the death squads stormed the protesters at Wadh and used brute force to open the highway for traffic.
