World Hockey League: Pakistan-Malaysia match ends in draw

Teams bagging first three positions in the event will qualify for 2014 World Cup.

JOHOR BAHRU: The hockey match between Pakistan and Malaysia ended in a draw with each team scoring four goals on Saturday, Express News reported.

The World Hockey League Match was played in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The Malaysian team gave a tremendous performance by scoring 3 goals in the first 18 minutes of the game against Pakistan.

Pakistan, however, found its feet equalising in the second half with Abdul Haseem Khan, Muhammad Tousiq, Shakeel Abbasi and captain Muhammad Imran each scoring one goal in the game.

The first two matches played before Pakistan-Malaysia match also finished even. Argentine and Germany’s match ended with 1-1, while Japan and South Korea scored three goals each.

Eight teams are participating in the second round. Teams who will bag first three positions in the event will qualify for the World Cup 2014.

syed babar ali naqvi | 10 years ago | Reply there was time one first champions trophy was held in GADDAFI STADIUM LAHORE AND PAKISTAN FIELDED two teams and first and second position was held byPAKISTAN,AND,NOW IF we draw with MALAYSIA it is cosidered a victory.HOCKEY BOARD should do their best to get this lost prestiege. dr syed
