Crystal smuggling bid: Charge sheet filed against PIA worker

Fakhri said that she was asked to deliver two packets of crystal to Saudi Arabia.

KARACHI: The police submitted on Friday a charge sheet against an air hostess of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Maya Fakhri, for the alleged smuggling of 320 grammes of crystals.

Sanaullah Ghouri, the judge of the special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances ordered the arrest of her accomplice, Imranullah Khattak.

The flight attendant told the police that she had met Khattak at a hotel in Islamabad, where he lured her into the illegal business.

Fakhri said that she was asked to deliver two packets of crystal to Saudi Arabia. In return, she was promised Rs50,000, she added.

She was, however, caught at a final search counter at the Jinnah International Airport on June 14, revealed the charge sheet.

A case, no. 26/13, under sections 6, 9 (b) of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, was registered at the Anti-Narcotics Force police station.
