Temporary no more: Khan Baig appointed permanent IG
Baig was appointed to the post temporarily on May 25.
LAHORE:
Acting Inspector General of Punjab Police (IGP)Khan Baig has been appointed as the permanent IGP. A notification was issued to this effect on Friday. Baig was appointed to the post temporarily on May 25. He had been made the acting IGP on January 2 and served till March 29. Baig, who was born in 1954, belongs to the 8th Common. He has a masters’ degree in economics and joined the Punjab Police in 1980. He was promoted to SP in 1987.
