RAHIM YAR KHAN:
A 19-year-old boy was run over by a college bus on Thursday.
Passers-by and residents of the area set the bus on fire and broke its windows to vent their anger at the accident.
Police said Junaid, a first-year student and a resident of Gulshan-i-Iqbal, was on his way home after dropping his sister at her college when he lost his balance and his motorcycle skidded.
He fell on the road and was run over by a bus coming from the opposite direction.
Some passers-by rushed to help him, but he had already died. They stopped the bus and set it ablaze. The bus driver fled the scene.
The protesters dispersed when a police party arrived on the scene. A police team was later deployed at the college that owned the bus to prevent further violence.
