Emergency situation: Committee formed for measles prevention

The committee would be responsible for monitoring and implementation of the decisions taken by the chief minister.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday constituted a 26-member cabinet committee to oversee preparations and measures for controlling the measles epidemic in the Punjab.



The committee headed by Health Minister Khalil Tahir Sindhu would hold meetings twice a week. It will be chaired by the chief minister.

According to an official notification, the committee would be responsible for monitoring and implementation of the decisions taken by the chief minister.

The committee includes Sindhu, Khawaja Salman Rafique, MPA Mohsin Latif, the health secretary, the LG&CD secretary, the environment protection secretary, the Higher Education secretary, the secretary for School Education, the Information and Culture secretary, the Social Welfare secretary, the P&D secretary, the PITB chairman, the Lahore Commissioner, the Lahore DCO, Special health secretary and some MPAs.
