GILGIT: Police officials on Tuesday warned against jumping to conclusions over a man’s slaying of his stepmother and two sisters in Chilas town. They denied that the man had actually committed the crime in reaction to a leaked video. “These are just assumptions, we can’t just rely on them without any evidence,” said Abdul Gaffar, a police official in Chilas police station, when asked if the man had acted after seeing a video of his mother and sister, as was reported by a section of the press. “The cause behind the murders can be something else. Let’s wait for the investigations to complete,” he said, adding that the relatives of the deceased had lodged an FIR stating that Iqbal had killed his stepmother and two sisters after he had heard an audio clip in which the deceased were talking to an unknown person.
