Provincial govt needs to do more: Asma

She said that lawyers had always raised their voices against the ongoing atrocities in the province.

QUETTA: Former president of Supreme Court Bar Association, Asma Jahangir said on Monday that time had come to decide who would run this country – army or politicians.

“Extrajudicial killings and bullet riddled bodies are being found in Balochistan, it is time to decide whether politicians or the military leadership would run the country,” Asma said while addressing the Balochistan Bar.

She said that lawyers had always raised their voices against the ongoing atrocities in the province.

She said the recent general elections had proved that people believed in democracy and despite terror threats, took part in the elections.

Asma said that the previous government had made policies that made today’s democratic government, stronger and independent.”
