Initial reports from the law-enforcing agencies suggest that the militants escaped in small groups which has made it difficult to track them down.
A car, which the officials claimed looked suspicious has been taken into custody for investigation.
Meanwhile, rest-houses where senior officials are residing have been put on security alert following the attack.
Well-armed and well-prepared attackers dressed in police uniforms stormed the camp at the foot of Nanga Parbat late Saturday, shooting dead the climbers and a Pakistani guide at point-blank range.

Its amazing how fast law-enforcing agencies can find leads so quickly when chinese citizens are killed. Where is the lead for killing of 15+ girl students in Quetta? Or for that matter many other mass killings of shias?

Btw... look beyond your borders... other countries also gained independence, and progressed with leaps and bounds. It's basically only us in this region, who never actually managed to grow out of it!
@A. Khan: That rosy picture of thing being "well-run" under the raj may well be the greatest fraud perpetuated in the history of mankind. The atrocities and horrors of the occupying force are always the same... just glossed over or exaggerated depending on who's writing history. The Brits werent here out of goodwill, or to work on human development or to give us railways or canals. They were here subjugate the locals and take their wealth. They did this directly and via proxy. Things appeared relatively orderly because its obviously easier for a state to manage its citizens when those citizens are slaves. The ruling class rules unquestioned, the population serves... unquestioning - order is maintained!

@Gingo: For one, thats not how things work when you hand over your country to a foreign power. People really need to read up on the history of treatment of colonies under colonial rule. These Gandhi, Nehru, Jinnah etc., not to mention other leaders around the globe werent famous because of their music albums.
Secondly, equality for all in the US? No corruption in the US? Seriously? Do a google search on inequality in nations.... followed by one on corruption in the congress, wall street, the white house... basically anything you can imagine!
Pakistan can ask help from India to track culprits by advanced satellite imaging system...
@Anon: I wouldn't mind handing the govt over to US. While were at it how about we become the 53rd state of USA. At least there will be equality for all, food, electricity, water, no terrosism or corruption.
@Anon: Handing governance back to the Brits might be the best decision ever taken by this country. If you think about it, actually they never really went away. Pakistan is ruled by their proxies i.e. the waderas and jagirdars who got their vast tracts of land as reward for their connivance with the Raj. But it was a much safer place back then.
Question is why would the Brits ever want to get directly involved in this quagmire again ?

@amir: Yes, and then why not just ask them to capture the people as well. And then try them where they want. In fact, lets just hand over our security to them. But why stop there. Lets also ask them to handle our government as well.
While we're at it, why would we want the US to do all this? Why not ask someone who already has experience in this region. Lets just as the Brits to come back....
so why cant we ask US to provide drones, equiped with heat sensing devices to scan the vast exit points????????????????
