The 19-year-old outclassed his seasoned opponent in an hour-long match and won with game scores of 11-6, 11-4 and 11-1.
Iqbal had defeated Tayyab Aslam 11-6, 11-8, 11-2, while Zaman reached the final after beating Muhammad Saqib Yousaf 11-1, 11-7, 5-11, 11-6.
A Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) official said Iqbal was a promising player.
“Iqbal has the potential to be among the top 20 players in the world,” the official told The Express Tribune. “He’s young and has time to improve. The PSF is pinning a lot of hope on him.”
Iqbal bagged a total of $12,000 as the winner of the PSA event — his second title of the year after having featured in eight tournaments so far.
