KARACHI: State Bank Deputy Director Alauddin Achakzai was recovered in the early hours of Saturday from Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi, Express News reported.
Achakzai, who was abducted on June 5, 2013, was recovered in a joint operation by the Anti violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and the Citizen Police Liaison committee (CPLC).
Three kidnappers were killed in the operation, while one AVCC official was also injured. Officials recovered one AK-47 rifle and two pistols from the possession of the kidnappers.
Achakzai had been kidnapped from the Maripur area on June 5, 2013. His kidnappers had demanded Rs20 million as ransom.
