On duty: Forest guard arrested for timber theft

A truck loaded with trees felled without authority was caught in Muzaffargarh.

Hazoor Baksh, a forest guard, was among three people caught cutting government trees in Sanjar Sheikh Basti Laal near Rahim Yar Khan on Wednesday.

Police said local farmers had informed the Muhammadpur police post. ASI Sardar Jam Abdul Wahhab caught Bakhsh and two others, but one of their accomplices fled the scene. Police recovered a tractor trolley loaded with lumber worth millions from them. Baksh and his accomplices were handed over to the Saddar Rahim Yar Khan police station. Earlier, a truck loaded with trees felled without authority was caught in Muzaffargarh.
