DI KHAN: Three medical stores were sealed and cases were registered against owners of seven for smuggling medicines into Tank city.

Drug Inspector Rehmat Gul said he conducted raids at different medical stores to inspect the medicines being sold there and found smuggled medicines along with illegal sale of medicines allocated for government hospitals. Both, those smuggled and sold illegally at these stores included medicines used for heart diseases, cough, stomach-related problems and other diseases.

Gul added cases against seven medical stores owners were sent to the District Health Department and deputy commissioner Tank District and further action against them has also been demanded. “It is very unfortunate that medicines for government stores are being sold in the market. The district health officer has assured us that a proper inquiry will be carried out and those employees involved in this mafia will be punished,” said Gul.
