Clerks will take to the roads starting tomorrow and have said that the strike will continue till their demands are met.
Compared to the increment in commodity prices, the current salaries of government employees do not add up to an affordable level.
It is the first time that the democratic government did not increase the salaries of government employees. The government informed them that the current economic situation of the country does not allow an increment in salaries, however government employees have projected that they are not in the situation to live comfortably within the given salary rate.
Grade 1 to 16 officers did not see an increment in their heath or housing allowances either. The increase in pension is also not seen as a favourable decision as employees argued that the previous Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) led government increased salaries and allowances generously.
In the first three years of their tenure, they increased salaries by 135% and by 50% in the last two years.

i fully appreciate your comments and very sory to say that it is not as per the justice that three province increase 15% or only one province 10%.
It is pertinent to mention here that the officials of three province i.e. KIPK Sindh are already drawing much salary as compared to the official of Punjab.@Zia:

Question No. Why the clercks, driver, of supreme court are drawing huge salary i.e. 50000/- or 45000/-pm.
Question no. Why the unified pay scale can not be emplimated?
Question no.3 Why the Government bear the huge expenditure i.e. TA / DA amount of all the members of Pay & Pension committee if their proposals has no importance and never be implimented?
Dear Friends; you should understand the discrimination in Government official salaries. A driver of Supreme court or state bank is enjoying huge salry like 45000/- and 90000/- respectively. But the official of punjab secretariats of all province whoes are earning 10,000/- and after 7 to 8 years reach to 15000/- . That is a big reason to force the official to start a strike against this unjustice system.
Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is now Prime Minister of the Pakistan, Similarly, Main Shahbaz Sharif and others are enjoying the rulership of the whole country. Its only because of Punjab, More than 90% Punjabis like PML (N). Now please hear the reward given by the PML (N) Govt. and Punjab Govt. that the Govt. employees of Punjab and Federal employees (where their beloved leaders are ruling) have been given an increase in salaries only 10%, while the employees of KPK and Sindh will now enjoy 15% increase in salary. Their leadership i.e. PPP & PTI actually deserves to make govt. in all the provinces.
So, plz plz plz next time vote to PPP and PTI and not to PML (N). I was the supporter and voter of PML (N) and now abdicates from the PML (N). Please send the voice of common people to Govt. about their mis-deeds, who only protects the businessmen class. I hate, PML (N) and expect u to all hate that party.

Well said. But now we can criticize the wrong steps of Govt. We can't let off the Govt. with the plea that we elected it. If we have carried it on our shoulders then we can drop it also. Actually, our thinking's are that after the PPP Govt. the PML (N) will make revolutionary steps, but alas.
The Govt. showed it plans in the first fortnight. I was the supporter of PML (N) but no abdicates from its support. Its only because of their common people enemy based policies.

We supported Nawaz Sharif to fight against terrorism, poverty, inflation, un-employment and not for imposition of taxes on our poor people.
During his tenure of first 2 weeks, he proved himself as an enemy of workers and laborers. So I criticized him.
He just increased only 1 percent GST which will make impact on market about 4~5 percent i.e. the bag of cement was Rs.445 before budget and after 12-06-13, just on the illegal notification of CBR its new price become Rs.495/- . Similarly, sugar, milk and all the items which are needed by the middle class are at hike
He only reduced taxes of hybrid cars, which are not in the access of middle class. Actually, PML (N) govt. do not think about the people of Pakistan. If people have elected them, then they will also reject them.

If Nawaz Sharif or any other minister would have abondened the luxorious life, and GST would have not been increased then no increase was justified, but these wrathless rulers are enjoying the bountious life and imposing all the sanctions on poor people and servants.
@waseem sarwar: there are only 2 type of gov servants one who take bribe and others who dont take bribe. I dont think economy changes their habit.

The Nawaz Govt. did not increased the salaries of Govt. Servants. In fact he is a business man and every businessmen remains involved in the struggle to pinch the worker / laborers / poor man (working under them). The question is that if Allah give them more they should deliver to needy / employed.
I have seen almost all the people have commented against the govt. servants, but it is not true. Every person can not be corrupt. But the inflationary price hike will make the whole nation corrupt.
Who have given the right to Nawaz Sharif to impose new taxes and increase in the existing taxed. GST which is increased upto 17 percent is actually the gift of Nawaz Govt. by the grace of IMF.
Frustration amongst the govt. servants increased and govt. should think about it. I m not in the favour of strike but Govt. should have to do some more for them.
@USMAN: I totally agree with you brother. And I would like to add, in developed countries direct taxes that are imposed on salaries and profits are higher so that each citizen is bound to pay taxes according to their earning. This eliminates corruption and discrimination brought by the high indirect taxes(sales tax) as in case of sale tax, poor and rich both have to pay a same % of taxes despite of vast difference in their livelihoods. Now you are smart enough to know which way Pakistan is heading.

PPP said that within 6 months poor people will know that PPP was a blessing for them. PPP did not do enough for middle class and rich but for poor people they did a number of good things.

My father and mother is govt empolyee since 20 years, after 20 years they are getting very nominal salary which is 25,000 Only, do u think that this salary is enough??? also every person in govt is not courrpt, this our mind set that every person in govt is corrupt. what is the mistake of those person who is working honestly?? MASHALLAH i am stable thats why i dont care that govt increase salary or not, but what is the mistake of those person which are not stable...think about those poor people...
120% increase in salary all you are considering just salary and what about increase in inflation rate huge increase in the prices of food and other basic commodities. Compare these two and you will find no actual increase in salary.
I consider govt employees salaries to be part of circular debt. It neither performs nor ends.

Glad to know Government Employees salary not increased. Their salary already increase 120% in last five years and progress is Nil. The should resign instead of protest if they don't work on this salary. Lots of talented & Educated UN-employed people is ready to get their positions on same salar

How can you increase pensions of retired government employees who are doing nothing for the government......while you are giving nothing to active government servants......They could have increased salary by 5% or even 3% as a token that government employees also mean something for the government.....Right now you are crushing the middle class with so many taxes......but what about increasing their salaries so that they can battle this inflation.......
Our new government belongs to those people who are Industrialist or Jagirdar/ landlord. In past they ruled the country badly and only cared about their selves, they made money and became extremely rich people & left the country. Now again history is repeating itself. They will do the same. Pakistan and poor Pakistanis will suffer again.
govt employees take pay even when they dont work=- ghost employees, have pensions, annual increments bonus go on strike and get thier demands but what about us? the middle class employed in private sector and corporate world? we get taxed heavily, the raises are negligible and we have to bear the brunt of the proice hikes on the basis of petrol hike, shortage , even the sabzi wala can increase his price depending on conditions but we are bounded for the year! no one cares for us and keeps pushing and squeezing us!!

The performance of all Government Departments are not hidden to anybody. Already enjoying vey high salaries, perks like house rents, conveyance allowances, Medical allowances plus bribery is the hall mark of all Govt. departments. Name me any one department which is not taking money against any one’s work. Even we have to pay for our genuine work. If you visit any Govt. office early in the morning at the start of the office time. you will not find any person on duty as they start to come to office after 10.30 and they left after 1.30 for home. They don’t deserve further increments in fact they are the burdens on Tax payers.

Nawaz Sharif is an industrialist. In industries mindset prevails not to pay much to the worker class. During the PPP gov when salaries were increased, it was non other than PML-N's Ch. Nisar who vehemently opposed it, an unique example where opposition is opposing the salary hike. Nawaz Sharif is a by-product of Gen. Zia-ul-Haq, who didn't increase salaries of gov. employees during his entire unconstitutional eleven year period
Dear PAKISTANI BROTHERS/SISTERS ,
I dont mean to be offensive or be judgmental. But It is a clear fact that ATLEAST HALF OF PEOPLE HAVING GOVERNMENT JOBS ARE UN ELIGIBLE BASED ON MERIT.
I personally know so many people who waited patiently for government jobs and got them and after further years of waiting they even got salaries which usually average engineers get elsewhere. And these people did not have any proper education or skill. All these people had was a good LINK WITH AUTHORITIES.
I dont know why government servants deserves all those raises and facilities which keep increasing every year.
I know this comment of mine will spark a rage among you government servants. Bet if we want to fight corruption and incompetency , then we have to be strong enough to see our reflection in the mirror , with honesty.

It would be better if the sacrifice this time, Financial conditions of our beloved country are not good ... It is not neccessary to increase salary by 50% every year, on the other hand majority of the Governement employees are earning black money as "most" of them are corrupt by nature ...
And they should, the budget has reduced tax for the corporate sector, reduced duty in Hybrid cars for the rich, and is intended to increases taxes on already burdened masses rather than taxing the rich and providing relief to the poor. . I live in a western county and here the most taxed demographic is the corporate and the rich, the same section that will get the most relief in our budget. So our budget is exactly opposite of what the budget of a first world nation is like. Makes sense under PMLn.
