Murder case: 14-year-old killed in crossfire between rivals

Case registered against 10 people.

A 14-year-old boy was killed on Sunday in an armed clash between two groups of Mohallah Madinaabad near Saddar police station.


Police said, two onlookers Shahzeb and Zubair Ahmad were injured and rushed to the divisional headquarters (DHQ) hospital where Shahzeb expired, while Zubair Ahmad’s condition is serious.

Following the boy’s death, scores of people from Madina Abad reached the hospital and staged a protest. The protestors blocked Jail Road, putting the body in the middle of the road in front of the hospital, and demanded immediate arrest of the suspects.




Saddar police tried to pacify the protestors and on their failure snatched the body from them and sent it to the mortuary at the Allied Hospital for a postmortem examination. The protestors were told to file a complaint.

Police said an exchange of hash words between Naseer Ahmad of the Kamal Group and a member of the Maqbool Group had turned into an armed clash during a panchayat called by Ejaz Pathan at his dera in Mohallah Madina Abad to settle matter between Liaqat Kamal and Maqbool Group.

Talking to the media the SHO of Saddar police station said Asim Riaz and Liaqat, representatives of the two groups had also been injured and shifted to the hospital. He said a case had been registered by Umar Hayat, a cousin of the decreased against 10 people including Maqbool and Liaqat.
