PESHAWAR: Just a week after taking oath, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Fazal Elahi from Peshawar ordered patwaris in his constituency to be seen in their office place rather than their fancy abodes.

He warned anyone who accepted bribes would be transferred. “Patwaris should follow the law and resolve land-related problems using solutions preset by the government,” said Elahi at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club. Elahi also accused Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) officials of taking money from people who use electricity illegally as many houses did not even have electricity meters.

“I invite Wapda officials to come to my constituency and arrest those who siphon electricity illegally, fining those who do not have meters. If a single official is abused while doing their duty, I will personally claim responsibility,” maintained Elahi.
