Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Qaim Ali Shah was officially sworn in as the Chief Minister of Sindh on Thursday, Express News reported.
Shah was elected by the Sindh Assembly with 87 votes for an unprecedented third consecutive term as the provincial chief minister.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Syed Sardar Ahmed and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional leader (PML-F) Imtiaz Sheikh, also contesting the seat, received 48 and 18 votes, respectively.
Earlier on Thursday, PPP leaders Agha Siraj Durrani took oath as the Speaker and Shehla Raza as the Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly.
Raza garnered a total of 86 votes to secure her position.
