KARACHI: Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Arbab Khizer Hayat said on Wednesday that though Nawaz Sharif was offered $5 billion not to carry out nuclear explosions he refused to do so.

Speaking on the importance of May 28 or ‘Youm-e-Takbeer’, Hayat said that Pakistan joined the world’s elite nuclear club on that day.

He said that Nawaz Sharif rejected the offer of money and chose to make Pakistan a nuclear state so that nobody would dare think of attacking Pakistan’s sovereignty but in the last 14 years, Musharraf and Asif Ali Zardari had dragged nuclear Pakistan from one crisis to another.
