SHABQADAR: The house of a private school’s owner was targeted in a bomb attack in Nusrat Zai area Tuesday morning, said Shabqadar police official Inspector Zaman Khan.

Khan said the culprits planted a bomb weighing half a kilogramme near Atta Muhammad’s house, which damaged the gate along with his car. No casualties were reported. Around two weeks ago, unidentified people targeted Public Science School, which is owned by Muhammad, damaging the school’s wall.

The school is located near Shabqadar hospital. A local familiar with the matter said Muhammad received a threatening letter from unidentified people demanding extortion money, after which he informed the police. The police launched a search operation and arrested suspects, including proclaimed offenders on Monday. “Whenever a person refuses to pay the ransom amount, he is attacked,” claimed the man.
