Schools: Disciplinary action ordered against 108 workers

DCO was informed that 12 teachers had been dismissed from service, deduction from salary had been made in 32 cases.

FAISALABAD: The Education Department took action against 108 employees on charges of negligence and irregularities. Of these, 70 were teachers.

District Coordination Officer Najam Ahmed Shah presided over a meeting in this regard on Tuesday.

Executive District Officer (Education) Pervez Akhtar, District Monitoring Officer Tariq Niazi and several district officers were also present.

The DCO was informed that 12 teachers had been dismissed from service, while deduction from salary had been made in 32 cases. Increments of eight teachers were stopped, and one of them was forced to reign. Warnings were issued to 10 others.

Among the non-teaching staff, two employees had been dismissed from service on breach of discipline, salary was deducted in 19 cases, increment was stopped in four cases and warning was issued to two.

The DCO expressed satisfaction with the performance of the district officers. He directed them to ensure provision of missing facilities at schools and improvement of students’ enrolment and teachers’ attendance.
