A couple and a two-year-old baby were among the six people killed in Karachi on Tuesday.
A husband and wife, 21-year-old Ahmed Shah and 16-year-old Sana, were shot dead by unidentified men in their home in Kunwari Colony, within the jurisdiction of Pirabad police station. Their bodies were sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police officials said that victims were shot multiple times.
“Ahmed’s family members, who were present at the house when the incident occurred, claimed that Sana’s brother, Bahadur Khan, was responsible for the deaths,” said DSP Zahid Hussain. “They alleged that Khan had the couple killed because they married of their own free will six months ago.” Ahmed was a labourer by profession. The police have registered a case against Sana’s brother.
A sub-inspector, 45-year-old Malik Ejaz, and a woman, 30-year-old Anum Nausheen, were found dead from a flat in Labour Square, in the limits of SITE B Section police station. Police officials said that the victims were shot multiple times, adding that the culprit tried to burn the room to erase all evidence before escaping.
Nausheen was a dancer by profession and sub-inspector Ejaz was visiting her when the murder took place. SP Ali Asif pointed out that the people living nearby saw a man leaving the flat. The police suspect that the culprit might be related to Nausheen.

Separately, a man was found dead near the Northern Bypass, within the limits of Manghopir police station. He was shot once in the head and there were torture marks on his body. Two-year-old Muhammad Yousuf was found dead from the roof of a relative’s house in Natha Khan Goth, within the limits of Shah Faisal police station. The police also found Yousuf’s three-year-old sister, Zara Rani, unconscious on the roof.
