KARACHI: Pakistan’s junior hockey squad for the upcoming Europe tour is expected to be named this week after trials are held in Islamabad. A total of 26 players, attending the second phase of the training camp at the Naseer Bunda Stadium, will take part in the trials, said coach Anjum Saeed. Pakistan are scheduled to play three matches each against Holland and Germany besides contesting two against Belgium from June 3.

Saeed said the players were looking forward to putting on a good show. “It is an important tour for these youngsters,” Saeed told The Express Tribune. “All the players are motivated and putting in a lot of effort.” Meanwhile, the Pakistan Hockey Federation has also decided to send the national U16 team to Europe later this summer ahead of the World Cup.
