Petition filed in SC seeking finger print verification in disputed constituencies
Petitioner asks court to suspend notification of election winners till votes are verified.

A constitutional petition was filed in the Supreme Court on Friday against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), NADRA and few television anchors under article 184 (3) of the constitution.
Dilawar Sajjad through Advocate Supreme Court Tariq Asad, held in his petition that ECP and NADRA be directed to verify the finger prints of voters of disputed constituencies and polling stations.
The petitioner stated that finger print technology used in conjunction with the voter list can trace out who were the actual voters and also those who tried hijacked the polling process.
The petitioner also prayed for suspension of the notification of winning candidates of election 2013 till the verification of the actual voters. He added that the presiding officers and the assistant presiding officers under by-laws have to be of grade 17 and 16 respectively, but these duties had been assigned to junior officials who were either inefficient or approachable by influentials.
"The instant petition is based on res ipsa loquitur (facts are evidence)", the petitioner pleaded.
